Volunteer With Us

After hearing the stories of our camp counselors finding purpose for pain they encountered earlier in life, we decided to be more intentional about giving college students and young adults the opportunity to play a part in the lives of the students we serve. Below you will find a variety of different volunteer opportunities offered throughout the year. If you have a passion for youth and making this world a brighter place, this volunteer program is for you.

Elevate Experience

Chapter Leader

Program Name: Elevate Experience

Description: If your are interested in starting an Elevate Chapter in your area, you can apply to serve as a Chapter Coordinator for the program.

 

Through this volunteer opportunity, Chapter Coordinators help facilitate the after-school program each week, and oversee the mentors and students enrolled into the program.

 

Requirements:

  • 21 + Years Old

  • Must have or be working towards at least an undergraduate degree (extra consideration for those pursuing a degree in a social or educational field).

  • Certified Mandated Reporter

  • Passionate about youth development and mental health advocacy.

Things to Know

All prospective candidates will undergo a background check and video interview.

 

If selected, you will be required to attend an online training workshop.

Elevate Experience

Elevate Mentor

Program Name: Elevate Experience

Description: If there is a Elevate Chapter in your area, young adults are invited to volunteer in the program as an Elevate Mentor.

 

Through this volunteer opportunity, Elevate Mentors help facilitate the after-school program each week, and serve as a support system for students enrolled into the program.

 

Requirements:

  • 21 + Years Old

  • Recommended: Must have or be working towards at least an undergraduate degree (extra consideration for those pursuing a degree in a social or educational field).

  • Certified Mandated Reporter

  • Passionate about youth development and mental health advocacy.

Things to Know

All prospective candidates will undergo a background check and video interview.

 

If selected, you will be required to attend an online training workshop.

Reset Weekend

Reset Counselor

Program Name: Reset Weekend

Location: Camp Manitoqua

Dates: January 3-5, 2020

 

Description: Reset Counselors will have the responsibility of leading a group of students at the retreat and serve as their designated point person during the weekend. 

 

Additionally, the intention of having volunteers is to give young adults the opportunity to invest in the younger generation and help them feel encouraged, valued, and supported during their reset experience.

Requirements:

  • 21 + Years Old

  • Recommended: Must have or be working towards at least an undergraduate degree (extra consideration for those pursuing a degree in a social or educational field).

  • Certified Mandated Reporter

  • Passionate about youth development and mental health advocacy.

Spaces Available: 6

If selected, you will be required to attend Reset Training Day on the morning of January 3.

Reset Weekend

Retreat Nurse

Program Name: Reset Weekend

Location: Camp Manitoqua

Dates: January 3-5, 2020

 

Description of Responsibilities:

  • Check in with each student that has medical needs, assess student’s needs, organize their medications and give them at the correct times during the weekend. 

  • Tend to any medical need that may arise, direct any first aid treatment and call backup (911) as needed. 

  • Attend activities throughout the weekend and be available to help students at any time.

  • Review the contents of first aid kit and ensure all items are present

  • Build rapport and trust with students.

 

Requirements: 

  • RN License (Illinois)

  • ADN or BSN

  • Current BLS Certification

 

Preferred:

  • One-year experience in healthcare setting (pediatric experience preferred) 

  • Experience with children/youth preferred, (previously a camp counselor, worked with youth groups, great with kids, etc.)

  • Experience organizing, handling, and administering medications
